2023 Media Registration

Advance media registration for the in-person Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo® opened June 13, 2023. All journalists are required to complete an electronic questionnaire to be approved to register for the meeting as a member of the media. Journalists seeking media credentials on-site also must complete the electronic questionnaire to be approved to register.

The Academy’s meeting will be October 7-10, 2023, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo.

Complimentary press registration is limited. Registered media will pick up their badges with general attendees at the Colorado Convention Center, Lobby F North. Once you have your badge, the Academy requests that the media sign-in at the Press Kiosk during hours of operation as noted below.

Criteria for Receiving Media Credentials

Approved Outlets

Digital media properties such as blogs and podcasts not affiliated with a news outlet must share available audience metrics and have content geared exclusively to a consumer audience. Content must adhere to the Academy’s Pledge of Professional Civility. The Academy reserves the right to grant or reject media credentials for the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo®.

Print, broadcast and online news media must have circulation available through Meltwater. Publications not registered with Meltwater must submit BPA- or AAM-verified circulation. National media outlets and trade publications must have a circulation size of at least 75,000 to be eligible.

Online news media must receive no less than 100,000 unique monthly visitors over the last 6 months (desktop + mobile) as verified via Google Analytics/GA4 to be eligible for complimentary media registration. The Academy will verify these figures through SimilarWeb.

Complimentary press registration is limited. The Academy will limit the number of representatives from each approved media outlet who may receive complimentary press credentials. Please inquire directly by contacting media@eatright.org.

Required Documentation

Publisher: Current business card or link to online bio from an established publication containing your title and copy of the outlet masthead from an issue no older than 6 months identifying you as publisher (one per outlet).

Reporter, editor, host or producer: Current business card, press ID, electronic signature with your press identification or bio with your title; reporters and editors must also provide examples of clips bylined with your name, a link to bylined articles or links to your news segments.

Freelance writer: Original dated letter of assignment or letter of intent to represent outlet from managing editor and two samples of bylined articles published in the last six months.

Bloggers and podcasters: Submit a link  to the digital property that notes your affiliation with that digital property.

The following are not eligible for complimentary press credentials:

  • Freelance writers who are not on a specific assignment
  • Book authors
  • Recipe developers
  • Newsletter editors or writers
  • Non-editorial personnel from media organizations such as marketing, public relations or advertising/sales representatives
  • Exhibitors
  • Employees or representatives of marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations firms
  • Writers creating analyses or reports sold as a commodity

* Academy program content may not be used to develop continuing education materials without the express written consent of the Academy.

* All requests for media credentials are subject to the approval of the Academy’s Strategic Communications Team. The Academy reserves the right to refuse credentials to any individual at its discretion.

Photography/Videography

All media video crews must be escorted through the Expo Hall and conference areas by a member of the Academy’s Strategic Communications Team. Call 312/899-4769 or email media@eatright.org to request an escort.

To foster a professional and respectful environment on the Expo floor and throughout the conference, we ask journalists to please introduce themselves and ask permission of exhibitors and attendees before photographing them or their booths.

Please do not take photographs during FNCE® educational sessions. The Academy hires a professional photographer to capture educational sessions; please inquire in the Press Kiosk or email media@eatright.org for session photograph requests.

Press Kiosk Located at Registration

Complimentary media credentials and conference registration for the 2023 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo® are reserved for working members of the media who are employed by established news outlets and digital properties that meet industry criteria. Approved journalists will print their badges on site at the Colorado Convention Center, Lobby F. North.

We request that all journalists visit the Press Kiosk to sign-in and receive their press ribbon to attach to their registration badge. The Press Kiosk will be located in the registration at the Colorado Convention Center, Lobby F North.

Who can I contact for interviews and other related information?
Registered media seeking to interview conference speakers should contact them directly through the Speaker Ready Room.

Can the media attend conference sessions?
Media registration for in-person attendance includes registration to the entire conference.

What services are provided to the media?
The Academy provides a number of services to in-person media attendees, including access to exclusive media briefing sessions and events, exhibitors and Academy press materials.

What do I need to qualify for media registration?
Review the Criteria for Receiving Media Credentials above for a complete list of requirements and criteria. The documentation required to obtain media access varies based on the role of the journalist.

When and how can the news media register for FNCE®?
Members of the press and digital communicators must complete this questionnaire to be considered for media credentials.

When will I receive my FNCE® credentials?
If approved, a representative from the Academy’s Strategic Communications Team will email a confirmation and code to register for FNCE®.
