Academy Foundation

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Academy and only public charity dedicated exclusively to our profession, supporting nutrition and dietetics students and professionals by empowering them to help consumers live healthier lifestyles. Visit our Foundation booth to interact with staff, meet volunteers and learn about all of our programs and resources that empower you as Academy members to be leaders in your profession.

Academy Membership

Learn about Academy membership categories, qualifications and how to join or recruit members. You also can get details about member benefits and services, including student-specific opportunities, Academy Honors and Awards, the Find an Expert tool, Mentor Match and Member Advantage programs. Academy Research Center

The Academy’s Research booth will showcase current studies, recently published papers and ways to be involved in ongoing or future projects from the Data Science Center, the Evidence Analysis Center and the Nutrition Research Network. There will also be opportunities to ask burning questions, meet the Academy Researchers and chat about the newly released Research Priorities.

Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics is the accrediting agency for education programs preparing students for careers as registered dietitian nutritionists or nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered.

CDR Service Center

Visit the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) booth to learn how to earn and maintain your RD®/RDN® or DTR®/NDTR® credential. Students can discuss exam eligibility and career pathways. Practitioner resources include: how to use Competency Plan Builder; what continuing education qualifies for your professional development portfolio (PDP) for recertification; and how to advance your career by becoming a Board Certified Specialist and earning a certificate in Obesity for Adults and Pediatrics.

Dietetic Practice Groups (DPGs) and Member Interest Groups (MIGs)

DPGs enable members to enhance their specialized knowledge, advance their careers, and establish relationships with colleagues in the same area of practice, while MIGs connect members who share a common interest, issues or backgrounds. Both offer cutting edge virtual learning opportunities, content experts, networking opportunities and online communities. Membership is open to any Academy member regardless of career stage, area of practice or interests. Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

JAND is the premier source for the practice and science of food, nutrition, and dietetics and presents original articles prepared by scholars and practitioners. JAND focuses on advancing professional knowledge across the range of research and practice issues such as: nutritional science, medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, food science and biotechnology, foodservice systems, leadership and management, and dietetics education. Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors

Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors is a organizational unit within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. NDEP’s mission is to advocate for and empower educators and preceptors to lead the profession of nutrition and dietetics. NDEP consists of over 1,400 educator and preceptor members with a decision-making body composed of 13 elected members and four appointed members known as the NDEP Council.
