Rachel Sinley PhD, MPH, RDN

Rachel Sinley is department chair and associate professor in the Department of Nutrition at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) and has worked at the university since 2016. In this role, Rachel oversees undergraduate and graduate programs in nutrition and dietetics, as well as a dietetic internship. She is also co-PI of the $2.1 million Promoting Post-baccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA) grant that the department received from the United States Department of Education in 2019. This grant aims to diversify the nutrition and dietetics workforce by providing scholarships and support services for diverse students. In her role, she has taught a variety of courses, including Community Nutrition, Global Nutrition and Graduate Nutrition Seminar, and supports diversity initiatives that impact faculty, staff and students. Rachel received the College of Health and Applied Sciences Outstanding Collaboration award in 2019 in recognition of efforts to partner with internal and external organizations and the Department of Nutrition received MSU Denver’s Team Excellence award in 2023.
