Regan Bailey PhD, MPH, RD

Regan Bailey is Associate Institute Director for the Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture and Professor of Nutrition at Texas A&M University. Dr. Bailey is an RDN who completed a dietetic internship and M.S. in Food and Nutrition from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, received her Ph.D. in Nutrition Science from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.P.H from Johns Hopkins University. Her research is on improving the methods of measuring nutritional status to optimize health. Dr. Bailey developed the first models combining nutrients from foods and dietary supplements to estimate total usual intake. Her work was used in the calcium and vitamin D Dietary Reference Intakes, and the National Academy reference values. She has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Bailey served on the 2020 DGAC. She was a member of the 2021 Committee on Scanning For New Evidence On Riboflavin To Support A Dietary Reference Intake Review for the National Academy of Medicine. She was a member of the Committee to Review the Dietary Reference Intakes for Energy for the National Academy of Medicine.
