Ellen Turk was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Her love of working with the older adults started when she was young with both of her parents working in skilled nursing facilities throughout her childhood. She graduated in 2013 from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho with a degree in Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship at Idaho State the following year. Ellen has worked with S & S Nutrition Network for the past 9 years providing dietitian consulting services to skilled nursing facilities in Las Vegas, Nevada and the surrounding areas. In 2021 she took a regional position at S & S Nutrition. She currently helps to provide contract RD support to skilled nursing facilities and registered dietitians throughout the western United States. In addition Ellen is passionate about improving malnutrition and older adults, is a emerging expert in NFPE and has presented to the Evidence Analysis Library, Dietetics in Healthcare Communities and the Idaho Healthcare Association. Ellen received the DHCC Emerging Leader Award in 2022. She lives in Henderson with her husband and three dogs. She loves watching sports, playing fantasy football, gardening and cooking.
