Carolyn O’Neil, MS RDN, is multi-award winning broadcast journalist; she combines the power of science-based communications with a creative flair to catch the attention of broadcast, print and digital audiences. Carolyn launched and led CNN’s global coverage of Food & Health as senior correspondent and executive producer of “On The Menu”, the network’s groundbreaking weekly program on food, nutrition and cuisine. Author of two bestselling cookbooks, including The Dish on Eating Healthy and Being Fabulous! and Southern Living’s Slim Down South Cookbook: Eating Well in the Land of Biscuits and Bacon!, Carolyn shares recipe inspiration on her blog, The Happy Healthy Kitchen. She contributes to network affiliate television broadcasts as well as Southern Living Magazine and luxury lifestyle and travel magazines. A leader in food and nutrition communications, Carolyn has received awards from the American Heart Association, American Society for Nutrition, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and National Restaurant Association. Her work in broadcast food journalism earned three prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards including induction into the James Beard Foundation Who’s Who in Food & Beverage in America. Carolyn is a member of Google Food Lab and the Delta Air Lines Culinary Council.
