Amy Sapsford received her BS in Dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University and was a neonatal dietitian beginning in 1983. She began her career at Dayton Children’s Hospital and moved to Cincinnati Children’s in 1990. She continued her career there until she retired in 2021. Ms. Sapsford is an author or co-author of numerous publications, including the AND Neonatal Nutrition Pocket Guide, the AND Infant Feeding Book, and Nutritional Care for High-Risk Newborns. She was involved in the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group and continues to serve on the Editorial Board for the Pediatric Nutrition Care Manual. Ms. Sapsford worked on the CDR Pediatric Specialist Exam Item Writing Committee for over 10 years. In addition, she was involved in numerous committees at Cincinnati Children’s. Her passion outside of nutrition is promoting Safe Sleep in the NICU. Amy is on the Board of Trustees for the Gerber Foundation and she has an endowed scholarship in her name at EKU.
