Sydney Huesman RD, LD, received a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and dietetics through the University of Cincinnati’s Coordinated Program and completed her Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Cincinnati in April 2023. Sydney is currently a Nephrology dietitian at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH, with 5 years of experience. Ms. Huesman has been a key contributor to several projects and processes in her current position. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing the patient transition process, preparing adolescents with CKD and ESKD for adult care, developing a phosphorus binder dosing protocol (in the process), and research on the risk of nephrolithiasis in enterally fed, medically complex children. Additionally, she has conducted presentations for staff on nutritional considerations for infants and children with CKD, special considerations for assessment of pediatric malnutrition in children with CKD and on dialysis, and formula selection and preparation for infants and children with CKD/ESKD.
