Dr. Jill Comess, D.HSc, MS, RDN. is the Food Science and Nutrition Program Director at Norfolk State University (NSU), Norfolk, VA in the Department of Nursing and Allied Health, College of Science, Engineering and Technology. Her experiences are in lifecycle nutrition, minority health, sustainable food, and obesity. Her interests include cooking, vegetarian nutrition, traveling, and learning about new cultures.
She is a member of the NSU Center of Excellence in Minority Health Disparities, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the VA Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Currently, serves on the board of the Tidewater Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Jill received her doctorate in Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University in 2020. She enjoys hiking and playing pickleball in her free time.
