Rachel Berton, RDN, LD is a Community Dietitian Nutritionist with Open Hand Atlanta. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from The Ohio State University and completed her dietetic internship through Oregon State University. Prior to working with Open Hand, she worked in a variety of settings ranging from clinical dietetics to agriculture. In her current role, she provides day-to-day management for the Innovations in Nutrition grant from the Association for Community Living awarded to Open Hand. All via telehealth programming, her tasks include providing group nutrition education and Medical Nutrition Therapy to the older adult population. Additionally, she oversees survey and data entry in conjunction with the Nutrition Services Liaison and creates culturally sensitive content for presentations and handouts. She is currently working toward Board Certification as a Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition.
