Debra Fossum is a Research Dietitian at the USDA ARS Human Nutrition Research Center located in Grand Forks, ND. This facility is one of six ARS research locations in the United States concentrating on Human Nutrition.
Debra was raised in a small, rural community in North Dakota. She received her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from North Dakota State University and became a Registered Dietitian in 1990. Later, Debra went on to achieve her Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities in 2013.
Her work experience includes managing a university food service department, business ownership as a consulting clinical dietitian in rural hospitals and nursing homes, teaching at the University of North Dakota, and pursing her greatest professional passions of research and continuing to learn new information to share with others.
