Samantha Morgenstern MS, RD, CDN is the Senior Director of Nutrition Services at NYC Health and Hospital for the Acute Care Service line. Samantha has over 20 years’ experience in the field of Food and Nutrition spending the last 10 years at NYC Health + Hospitals. During her career she has held various roles as Clinical Nutrition Manager, CBORD Administrator and Associate Director of Nutrition Services in many Health Care Systems. As a CBORD Administrator and Associate Director she built, trained, and supported departments on the implementation and integration of various Electronic Medical Records and Nutrition Software in both Acute and Post-Acute Care settings. Throughout her nutrition management career, Samantha has successfully led teams to standardize best practices, start new accounts, and develop menus. Currently, she supports and leads the clinical nutrition programs in 11 Acute Care Sites. Samantha has most recently been the lead on the development and implementation of NYC Health + Hospitals Healthy Eating Plant Based Initiative supporting the sustainability and health goals for the Mayor’s office and the residents of NYC. Samantha has obtained her undergraduate degree in Dietetics at New York University and her Master’s Degree in Applied Physiology and Nutrition at Teachers College/Columbia University.
