Ken Buraker

Ken Buraker (he/him) is a gifted storyteller and strategist who connects hearts and minds to compelling issues. As Chief Creative Officer of Urban Emu, Mr. Buraker drives the creative vision, innovation, and execution for a diverse portfolio of respected federal agency, corporate and nonprofit clients. With roots in leading creative and digital solutions at big agency brands Ketchum and Porter Novelli, Mr. Buraker’s passion is making creativity and technology work as a force for good. With nearly 30 years of award-winning work in health and nutrition education outreach, he draws insight from pop culture and data analytics to focus on tomorrow’s promise. He cultivates fearless creativity among his teams and clients by intersecting brand strategy, visual storytelling and digital innovation to inspire transformative customer experiences through every touchpoint in multi-channel delivery. Since 2004, Mr. Buraker has worked with USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion to create the MyPlate visual design and led the user experience and design development of SuperTracker and the recent Shop Simple with MyPlate app. In addition, he has overseen the design and branding for the past four editions of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
