Amy Drescher PhD, RDN

Dr. Amy Drescher serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness at the University of Arizona where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in diet and disease, body composition and nutrition counseling. She earned her bachelor’s degree in dietetics and her doctorate in nutritional sciences with a minor in exercise physiology, both from the University of Arizona. She has served both as a clinical dietitian and bionutrition research manager, in addition to directing the Dietetic Internship Program at Banner-University Medical Center in Tucson. She also spent more than 10 years as Research Specialist in the University of Arizona Respiratory Center in the College of Medicine.. Dr. Drescher is an active member of the University of Arizona academic community, where she serves on the School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness Undergraduate Programs Committee and as Co-Chair of the Curriculum Committee. She is also an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, having served on the Nominating Committee and as the Community Outreach Chair for her local district, the Southern Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (S-AZAND) from 2019-2022.
