Since 2018, Tammie has served as the Regional Liaison for the Defense-State Liaison Office working with the State Legislatures of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. Tammie leads the coordination between the Department of Defense and the Council of State Governments to develop occupational licensure compacts. As a Regional Liaison she provides reliable information and research, knowledge of policies and processes, and assistance with legislation — all to support service members and their families. Prior to joining the Defense-State Liaison Office, Tammie focused on natural resource policy and has worked at the international, national, state and local level on forestry related issues. She is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Combat Veteran where she earned a Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge. Tammie is a graduate of the Gonzaga University ROTC program, holds a Master in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College, and is an Excellence in Government Fellow.
