Andrea Barnes MSCN, RD, LDN, FAND

Andrea Barnes is a registered dietitian in Pennsylvania. Over her career she has been rewarded by involvement in mission-driven organizations that help communities thrive. Her leadership roles have included founding an integrated-care practice focused on helping individuals with disordered eating behaviors, serving as president of the Lehigh Valley Dietetic Association and the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (PAND), and Clinical Nutrition Manager in skilled- and long-term care. Andrea’s most recent efforts focus on research, policy, and population health. She serves as the Co-State Regulatory Specialist for PAND, leading the affiliate’s initiative for enhanced licensure. She has served as district and state public policy coordinator, and is currently involved in research, both here and abroad, to improve behavioral health outcomes. Working in healthcare for over 20 years, she is passionate about improving health equality and access to patient-centered care through gap analysis, research, and innovation. Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition science with a concentration in gender studies from Cedar Crest College, a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from the New York Institute of Technology, and will complete her doctorate in behavioral health through Arizona State University, with a focus on clinical research in 2023.
