Jon Polley proudly serves as Program Manager for UPMC’s Center for Sustainability. After his first life of leading kitchens throughout the Pittsburgh region, Jon used his role as Executive Chef of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital as a means for reducing food service’s carbon footprint and increasing both sustainability and community outreach initiatives. Jon co-created Magee’s hospital-wide Environmental Quality Team and managed Magee’s Practice Greenhealth account, steadily increasing the diversity and scope of the hospital’s greening projects. His actions and leadership in sustainability have led to many talks, both national and local, where he exudes both unbridled energy and tactful hope for bettering our relationship with the planet. Jon is a University of Pittsburgh graduate and lives in the South Hills of the city with his wife, two sons and always silly Australian Shepherd.
