As a Dietitian, Daniel Colella has over 11 years of experience providing Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition counseling for various individuals and across the lifespan. His current position as a Program Coordinator with the Department of Veteran Affairs in Loma Linda, California, allows him to oversee and facilitate comprehensive lifestyle interventions for the treatment of obesity. In his free time, Daniel volunteers with Peer-Support Harm Reduction organizations to help individuals transform difficult psychedelic experiences into opportunities for learning and growth while in a non-ordinary state of consciousness. This volunteer work allowed Daniel to be a part of the first federally-funded clinical trial of MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for Veterans with PTSD in the United States. By providing a unique dietetic and nutrition perspective to this research, Daniel hopes to inspire other Dietitians and nutrition professionals on the potential role they have in this fast growing space.
