Mary Lee Chin MS., RD, a food and nutrition communications consultant, works with commodity food groups and food industry. She speaks on some of the most provocative food topics of today, including genetically modified foods, environmental and sustainability issues, and innovation in food production for the future. Aware that divisive and emotional food issues ignite a firestorm of debate she advocates moving from polarizing rhetoric to open and professional courteous discourse. Mary Lee speaks to businesses, NGO’s and health professionals, has provided interviews with local and national media, and formerly held a six-year term as a national spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is past-chair of the Academys IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) Committee; serves on the Academy’s Foundation Board; is Vice-Chair, Board of Trustees, and Chair, Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA)Committee, of the Denver Botanic Gardens; Denver Mayor’s Asian American Pacific Islander Commission; and the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival. She has been Outstanding Dietitian of the Year twice from the Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the recipient of the Academys 2020 Lenna Frances Cooper Memorial Lecture Award.
