Jonathan Scott, PhD, RD, CSSD, LD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine and part of the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) at the Uniformed Serivces Univeristy (USU). He earned a B.S. in Nutrition from Bradley University (2006), completed a Dietetic Internship and a M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from The Ohio State University (2008), and a Ph.D. in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from The Ohio State University (2012). He has advanced training in sports nutrition and holds the distinction of being a board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Prior to his current position at the USU, he was a sports dietitian at The Ohio State University for four years. After leaving OSU in 2012, Jonathan worked as a contract performance dietitian and later as senior scientist, with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation supporting CHAMP. He is passionate about the synergistic effects of food, optimal training, and recovery in helping individuals and teams achieve optimal performance.
