Nicole Brown, MS RDN LD

Nicole Brown, MS, RDN, LD ACSM EP-C completed degrees in Chemistry and Clinical Dietetics at CSU, Chico and an MS in Nutrition at UC Berkeley. Her passion for health promotion and appreciation of delicious food stem from being born in France and beginning to run with her father as an 11 year old. She completed her first marathon at the age of 15. Her 35+ year career has included clinical dietitian, management and private practice positions in Aberdeen, Washington, at UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA, in Kaiserslautern, Germany and since 2000, in the DC Metro area.
Nicoles thriving private practice, For the Health of It!, includes physician referred and self referred clients as well as consulting work at the National Center for Weight and Wellness. Her 7+ years with the Fairfax County Occupational Health Center focused on providing prevention education and MNT for firefighters, sheriffs, and police officers.She was a Research Dietitian to the Mautner Project of Whitman-Walker Clinic and for Novo Nordisks SCALE Study. In 2014, she conducted the Fire Fit Pilot, in conjunction with the WMDPG research project. She is a member of Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Weight Management and Food and Culinary Professionals DPGs.
Nicole has been involved at district and state levels in Washington State, California and Virginia: Past President of VAND, is Outcomes Chair, and Co-Chairs the NVAND Private Practice & Consulting Group. Early in her career, she received recognition as RYDY and more recently VAND’s 2018 Outstanding RDN.
