Previously Director Ohio Board of Dietetics (1996-2010)
Kay Mavko served Ohio for 13 years as the Director of the once independent Ohio Board of Dietetics.. Following retirement, she is actively engaged in licensure and regulatory issues in Ohio as the State Regulatory Specialist for the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and helps the affiliate maintain effective communication with the State Medical Board of Ohio (which is now responsible for dietitian licensure).
As an active member of the Academy she led the Workgroup on Licensure, Scope of Practice and Competition and was a past chair of the Licensure and Public Policy Committee. By working with members of the public, dietetic professionals, advocacy groups and government regulatory agencies Kay endeavors to assure safe nutrition practices, and enhance common sense licensure, and regulation.
Kays practice experience includes clinical, management and consulting positions in pediatrics, nutrition support, computer software support at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus Nationwide Childrens Hospital. She also has completed CLEAR Certified Investigator Training.
