Deanne is an Academic Specialist, Assistant Director, Didactic Program in Dietetics, and doctoral candidate in Human Nutrition at Michigan State University. Deanne has over 25 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical and community settings working in pediatrics and school nutrition policy and research. Deanne is the lead faculty for the Spartan Nutrition Assessment and Simulation Laboratory. She has been integrating simulation-based education into her courses in community nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. In 2020, she was recognized as the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources New Teacher of the Year award. Deanne serves as the Associate Editor the NewFLASH with the Diabetes Dietetics Practice Group and Public Policy Coordinator for the Michigan Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
