Missouri State University

Jaime Gnau is a Southwest Missouri native, registered dietitian nutritionist, certified health education specialist, and 2019-2021 Southwest regional director for the Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MOAND). With over 16 years of experience in the healthcare field, she now serves as a clinical instructor and clinical coordinator for Missouri State Universitys Nutrition and Dietetics programs. Within her role at the university, she serves as faculty dietitian for the Missouri State University (MSU) Care Clinic, a free and charitable clinic serving low-income, uninsured patients, where she precepts dietetic interns with a focus on providing interprofessional learning opportunities. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and a Master of Science in Health Promotion and Wellness Management from Missouri State University. Through connecting and building community partnerships, she started an emergency food box initiative at MSU Care that served at-risk populations over 60,000 lbs of food since the start of the program in March 2020. Her efforts for this program were recognized by the Missouri Council for Activity and Nutrition, who granted her the Excellence in Connecting Health to the Community Award in 2021. Leveraging experiences gained from years working on healthcare teams in hospital and ambulatory care settings, and leadership experience as regional director, she transitioned to the world of academia. Ms. Gnau continues to promote ideals of connectedness and collaboration across health disciplines through interprofessional education strategies.
