Tamaan Osbourne-Roberts, MD, FAAFP, DiplABLM is the founder and principal of Daybreak Healthcare, an executive consulting firm specializing in physician leadership, health business quality initiatives, and medical media. He recently served as the Chief Medical Officer of Colorados Health Care Policy and Financing department, the state agency overseeing Colorados Medicaid program, and responsible for $9.4 billion in expenditures (approximately 34% of the states total budget), as well as Chief Medical Officer of the Center for Improving Value in Health Care, a rapidly growing 501(3)c organization dedicated to advancing the “Triple Aim” of lower cost, higher quality, and greater patient satisfaction through health care data and analytics (including administration of the Colorado All Payer Claims Database, the states most comprehensive claims data set representing the majority of insured lives in Colorado and including all major commercial payers, Medicaid, and Medicare). He is also a consultant at the Center for Personalized Education for Physicians (CPEP), where he assists CPEP in monitoring and implementing physician evaluation, remediation, and practice re-entry programs.

In his clinical career, Dr. Osbourne-Roberts, certified in both family medicine and lifestyle medicine serves as a Team Lead Physician at Iora Primary Care in Denver, Colorado, and maintains academic appointments as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine for the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in in the Department of Health Systems, Management & Policy of the Colorado School of Public Health.

As a past-president of the Colorado Medical Society and past-president and board chair of the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Osbourne-Roberts was the youngest person, and first person of color, to serve as president in both organizations. He served as a co-author of the policy that led the AMA to advocate for passage of the Affordable Care Act, currently serves on the AMAs Council on Science and Public Health and the AAFPs Commission on Quality and Practice, previously served on the AMAs External Advisory Committee on Value-Based Care, and served as a launch stage judge for the Center for Medicare Services AI Health Outcomes Challenge. An experienced speaker and media personality and recipient of multiple honors and awards, Dr. Osbourne-Roberts speaks five languages (three fluently). He is currently studying for his M.B.A. at the Yale School of Management as a Yale Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Health Equity Leadership.
