Registered Dietitian of 11 years, Lisa Littrell, MPH, RD, LD has dedicated her career to the empowerment of under-resourced communities within the USA, its territories, and the globe including American Samoa, Romania, Mexico, Afghanistan, and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Lisa began her career as a clinical dietitian at a small rural hospital in American Samoa where she practiced for 4 years. During her time there, Lisa realized the critical impact that public policy and community structure has on individual health outcomes. This led her to the pursuit of a masters degree in public health at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana emphasizing in global community health and behavioral sciences. Since graduating in 2016, Lisa’s has been managing community-based nutrition programs in complex environments that focus on malnutrition prevention and early intervention through systematic malnutrition screenings, education on infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices, home garden initiatives, food security, early childhood education, and emergency nutrition response.
