Chhaya Patel, MA RD CSR
Chhaya Patel has been a Renal dietitian since 1980 and works for DaVita since 1994 in different roles and now serving as the senior manager for clinical programs. She has contributed more than 20 articles to peer reviewed publications. Her leadership roles have included the Council of Renal Nutrition of the National Kidney Foundation on both the national and regional levels. Her classic publication, Cultural Foods and Renal Diets for Clinical Dietitians and Kidney Patients” is a key globally recognized resource. Chhaya is recognized as both a national and global expert on adapting kidney nutrition to varied cultural diet patterns. She received Recognized Renal Dietitian award from CRN/NKF in 2012 . Also, she received Shinning Star award for Dietitians and Outstanding Service award at DaVita.
Chhaya was on the executive committee as Area Coordinator for Area 1 of RPG/ADA for several years. She recently co-authored chapter on Peritoneal Dialysis for Nutrition in Kidney Disease publication in 2020.
