Dr. Kelly is an attending physician in the Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania. She has long-standing clinical and research interests in endocrine co-morbidities arising in youth with chronic health conditions and alterations in body composition. For the past 15+ years, Dr. Kelly has led a clinic specifically for the care of youth and young adults with cystic fibrosis (CF) and diabetes or other endocrine co-morbidities. This work includes studying the evolution of glucose intolerance and islet defects in CF and is testing the impact of GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy upon early phase insulin secretion. She is Co-PI for the CF Foundation (CFF) Promise Endocrine sub-study which aims to examine the impact of CFTR modulator therapy upon glucose tolerance as well as bone and body composition outcomes. She is also a mentor for the CFF Envision program which is designed to provide training to adult and pediatric endocrinologists in the care of diabetes and endocrine co-morbidities in CF.
