Dr. Andrea Glenn is a registered dietitian and post-doctoral fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the University of Toronto. Her current and doctoral research focused on the role of plant-based diets on cardiometabolic health, including the well-established cholesterol-lowering Dietary Portfolio, or Portfolio diet. This plant-based diet has been shown to significantly reduce total and LDL cholesterol, inflammation, triglycerides, and blood pressure in randomized controlled trials, and is associated with lower cardiometabolic disease in prospective cohort studies. She has co-authored several systematic reviews and meta-analyses for clinical practice guidelines on plant-based diets/foods in cardiometabolic health, including legumes, and vegetarian/vegan diets. She has a particular interest in knowledge translation activities related to diet and cardiometabolic health.
