Janet M. de Jesus, MS, RD
Ms. de Jesus is a Nutrition Advisor in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) She is the HHS lead of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans project and participates in other nutrition activities in the U.S. federal government such as the Dietary Reference Intake Working Group. Previously, she was a Public Health Advisor at the National Institute of Health (NIH) for 17 years. At NIH, she supported the development of clinical practice guidelines for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular risk factors in adults and pediatrics. She also participated in the development of community programs to improve heart health in high-risk communities and nutrition education materials for cardiovascular health.
