Karen Collins, MS, RDN, CDN, FAND
Karen Collins is a registered dietitian nutritionist who promotes healthy eating as a speaker, consultant and writer. As a consultant, Karen is Nutrition Advisor to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR). She is author of “Overview of Public Health Dietary Guidelines for Prevention of Cancer,” chapter in Scientific American Nutrition (online) and other peer-reviewed research summaries for health professionals. She has also written over 2000 articles for the public. Karen speaks regularly to a variety of health professional audiences, particularly on cancer prevention and survivorship, heart health, and their intersection. She is also author of the blog, Smart Bytes. A Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Karen has previously served as Chair of its Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) dietetic practice group. Karen holds a BS degree in dietetics from Purdue University and an MS degree in nutrition from Cornell University.
