Alicia Grove, MS, RD, SNS, is a Nutrition Consultant at the School Nutrition Unit within Colorado Department of Education. In this role she oversees food safety, charter schools, professional standards, Residential Child Care Institutions, and day to day training support. She leads Administrative Reviews (essentially audits of school meal programs) and is an integral part of the training team. Alicia designs online trainings, coordinates regular program webinars, develops training materials, and evaluates school nutrition training impact. Alicia completed her MS in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a focus on Community Nutrition at Colorado State University where her masters project focused on identifying innovative strategies for reducing food waste in K-12 schools. She is originally from Richmond, VA, and received her BA in psychology from University of Virginia. Alicia serves as the Policy and Advocacy Leader for the Public Health Community Nutrition Program. In her free time, she enjoys running, skiing, cooking, and figuring out ways to reduce food waste
