Christin Seher, PhD, RDN, LD is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the School of
Exercise and Nutrition Sciences and Co-Director of the EX[L] Center for Experiential Learning,
Entrepreneurship and Civic Engagement at The University of Akron. Her research interests
include cultural humility and diversity education and training of healthcare professionals;
nutrition equity; the dietetics curriculum, educational policy, and socialization and
professionalization practices; and the scholarship of teaching and learning including
experiential learning and service-learning as critical pedagogy. As affiliated faculty in the
Department of Sociology, additional research interests include equity and inclusion across
higher education and critical food studies. She is a program reviewer for the Accreditation
Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and Board of Directors member for
the World Critical Dietetics organization, an international organization focused on applying
critical theory to the practice of dietetics.
