Erin is a Clinical Professor with Iowa State Universitys (ISU) Food Science and Human Nutrition Department, teaching in the Master of Professional Practice in Dietetics future graduate program. She is the coordinator for the international community rotation in Ghana, Africa. She also participates in the sustainable food systems rotation in Paris, France. She was a member of the team that developed Standards of Professional Performance (SOPP) for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in Sustainable, Resilient and Healthy Food and Water Systems, as well as the Academy Foundations dietetic internship concentration. She was a fellow of the National Leadership Academy for the Publics Health Going Bold Iowa team, which integrated policy, systems, and environmental change strategies within the Iowa Department of Public Health and dietetics education at ISU. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship at Iowa State University and her Master of Public Health degree at Des Moines University. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in Agricultural Education at ISU, focusing on the professional development needs of dietetics educators using systems thinking to teach complex problems related to sustainable food systems. She is the former Chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Council on Future Practice. She has previously held leadership roles with Global Member Interest Group, Hunger and Environmental Nutrition DPG, and Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
