Leslene Gordon, PhD, RD, LDN

Leslene Gordon, PhD, RD, LD, serves as the Community Health Director of the Florida Department of Health Hillsborough County. Responsibilities include leadership of the agencys Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Sterilization Program, Health Promotion and Education, Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, Office of Health Equity, School Health, Epidemiology, Family Planning, Tobacco Prevention Program and Community Dental Program. One area of focus is reducing health disparities and improving population health outcomes through increased awareness and education and by building capacity within local communities. She envisions fully engaged communities that are accountable and involved in advocating for their healthcare needs. Dr Gordon has held faculty positions in several institutions. She is active on several local, state, and national community and professional boards.
