Kristen Walker is a creative food, nutrition and culinary professional with more than 20 years of experience developing foods and beverages for people with dysphagia.
She has worked with some of the top healthcare nutrition companies in the development and promotion of texture modified products through prototype development, recipe creation, kitchen in-services, staff training and educational presentations.
Kristen has presented to students and at trade shows, professional meetings, corporate events and individual care facilities on how to prepare foods and beverages that meet texture requirements while maintaining an appealing appearance and taste. Her passion for dysphagia has led her to become heavily involved in educating and assisting healthcare facilities in the transition to IDDSI.
Kristen holds degrees in Consumer Food Science (Iowa State University) and Culinary Arts (Art Institutes) and is currently a member of the Research Chefs Association and Food & Consumer Science Professionals of Minnesota.
