Tom Hazell, PhD

Tom Hazell completed his undergraduate, Masters, and PhD degrees in Kinesiology before completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Dietetics and Human Nutrition. He is currently an Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario where he teaches in the areas of exercise physiology and nutrition. His research lab studies the effects of exercise on energy balance with a goal to better understand how exercise can be used to reduce body fat effectively. Specific interests are the effect of sex and exercise intensity on appetite-regulating hormones and energy expenditure.
