DPG/MIG 2020 Social Events

The Academy offers members an opportunity to engage as a Dietetic Practice Group or Member Interest Group member. Involvement with a DPG/MIG enhances specialized knowledge, offers professional development, provides a platform to share resources and experiences, and establishes relationships with colleagues from all over the world. If you are not a member and are interested in getting involved, learn more about DPGs and MIGs. Membership to DPG and MIGs is open to any Academy member. Join today!

During FNCE®, some DPGs and MIGs are offering virtual events for members and FNCE® attendees to network and engage. FNCE® 2020 may be virtual, but there are still great ways to connect and relax with colleagues. Take a look at the list below and access the registration/RSVP link for each event. Social Justice: Learning and Unlearning

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

With FNCE® being virtual we are missing out on an important piece of this conference: togetherness, connecting with familiar faces and meeting new people. This event, hosted by the Behavioral Health Nutrition (BHN) DPG will re-create the hallway conversations, the whispered tete-a-tete in the seats before a session and having interesting conversations with dietitians you have never met.

  • Join our interactive event to network with colleagues from around the country. Many of us are looking for ways to better support our clients who confront issues like access to health care, weight stigma, racial injustice and more.
  • Our Executive Committee will facilitate solution-based discussions surrounding important social justice issues within the scope of Behavioral Health Nutrition.
  • This networking event is aimed to encourage dietitians to have conversations to:
    • Discuss about what you are doing to expand your views on societal issues, health, weight stigma and eating patterns.
    • Discuss actionable steps to take in our personal and professional work to better support our clients’ needs.
    • Share what we are reading, listening to, blogging about…etc to learn and unlearn.
