As our service demographic changes, in age and ethnic diversity, it is important to be equipped with the breastfeeding knowledge and tools to meet needs and establish healthy outcomes. This session will address the myths and misconceptions to best promote the practice and acceptance of breastfeeding as the norm among demographics at different ages, cultural beliefs and acculturation, and gender spheres of influence. The ultimate goal is to effectively work towards the Healthy People 2020-2030 goals for increasing breastfeeding initiation, exclusivity and duration across the nation.
